It's amazing to think that Kendall wasn't always this mobile. We were looking at videos of when she was first learning how to crawl. Now anything up to 2 1/2 feet high if fair game to be chewed on, pulled out, banged together or ripped up. Whenever she finds something new, she smiles really big and looks at us like, "You'll never beleive this, look what I found! Isn't this great?!"

Here is one of those moments. Kendall found a couple of Oreos. It's amazing how aparent silence is when you have kids. We walked out to see why she became so quiet, and this is what we found. She was thrilled and kept trying to share the slimmy leftovers with us.

We had a BBQ with our friends the Hamiltons.  We had won two planes at the family competition in Montana. We decided that Ethan and Gabe would have more fun with them than we would. It was a lot more fun for us to watch them run up to the ledge and throw their planes, then jump off, get the plane to run up to the ledge again. We made a pudding pie (Oreo) for dessert, but the pudding didn't quite set up. It turned out to be more of an oreo soup and we ended up serving it in bowls. It still tasted pretty good.

 

I helped make Heather's birthday cake up in Montana. I decided that all of the candles should be placed together. It worked better than I had planned. Heather's family has a tradition of singing as badly as possible for birthdays. It's pretty humorous and a lot of fun. By the time Heather blew the candles out, they had begun melting together.  

Elmo's Song

Kendall absolutely LOVES "Elmo's Song" which is weird since she's never even seen Sesame Street. Whenever we play it, she gets this huge grin on her face and will start dancing. So we finally were able to capture her mad dancing skills:)

Some Extra Pictures

Kendall is pretty good at free standing and will do it for a good chunk of time as long as you don't acknowledge her. As soon as she realizes you're watching her, she'll usually sit down.

This is a good view of the hairband I just made. Aubrey showed me how to make little roses. Cute, huh?

This is the new thing Kendall likes to do. She will hold onto my pants and walk around the apartment with me. Its really cute but also annoying because I have to walk really slow so she can keep up.

Sweet fort dude!

So, I totally stole this idea from my sister-in-law Aubrey. I saw one of these at her house and thought it was absolute genius. So here is my attempt. I just took an old top sheet for a queen bed and measured/fitted it to go over a cardboard table. I then added a door, 2 windows and a little tree on the side (just for fun). And here is the finished product.... something Kendall can play in when she's a little older.

Kendall is a wonderful tour guide.

Fun times in Montana

Kendall loved spending time with her cousins. Cohen is almost 5 and loves Kendall. He likes to hug her while she mostly plays with his face. Eden is only 6 months older than Kendall but they are close enough in age where they both enjoy a lot of the same things. Here's some pics.

A perfect sized pool for the little girls!

 Eden loved playing in the bark at the playground. She threw a bunch in her face and thought it was hilarious!

Excuse Kendall's unbuttoned onesie, we can barely get the diaper changed without her crawling away, much less getting the clothes back on.

Our last day in Montana, we went to the Carousel in Missoula. I don't know if Kendall enjoyed it very much (it went pretty fast) but it was too cute to pass up! All in all, we had a blast in Montana. It was great to be with family and nice to get away for a while.

Big Milestones

Last Monday, Kendall decided to surprise us by taking her first steps. Matt and I were sitting across from each other, pretty much experimenting what would happen. After a few tries, Kendall was able to walk about 8 steps. Here's a cute video we took a few days later.

Now she can free stand for quite some time and is gradually increasing the distances she can go.

Last Wednesday Kendall also cut her first 2 teeth! (The bottom middle 2.) She is still a happy baby but we have to remember to give her Tylenol before bed to help her sleep.

Her 3rd milestone is climbing stairs. We were visiting my family in Montana, and my house has 2 sets of stairs inside. So Kendall got a lot of practice climbing up (not down) stairs as she roamed around the house.
