"Code Adam"

We had an eventful trip to Walmart the other day. The shopping cart was filling up more and more so I pulled Kendall out of the cart. Kendall tasted the sweet savor of freedom and while I was deciding which Kleenex box to buy, Kendall disappeared. I wasn't too worried at first since Kendall likes to hide then jump out and scare ya.....but after about five minutes of looking and calling for her, I started to worry big time.

I finally asked an employee if she saw a little girl, she gave me this crazy judge-y look and jumped on her walkie talkie thing and reported a "Code Adam". I got hauled up to customer service and within another five minutes, another lady walked up holding the guilty one named Kendall.

It turned out that Kendall discovered the toilet paper section and climbed right in. She called it "her paper castle" and wanted to go back and play there some more. Needless to say, we did not.

Ah, the joys of attempting to shop with children.....when will I learn?

siblings

Kendall and Cole are starting getting to the point where they are buddies....sometimes. Typically, Kendall acts like a mini-mama, scolding Cole whenever she thinks he is out of line. Cole is normally trying to be sneaky with toys and such trying not to draw too much attention to himself otherwise bossy Miss Kendall will intervene.
However, here is a moment where they decided to like each other and hug....so I had to take pictures quickly to document that small miracle!

Cole's getting big

Cole figured out how to climb the stairs. And now its his favorite thing to do...as you can tell by his happy grin:)

Cole is also a champ at standing and he loves to push his "Hungry Hippo" toy all around. He has taken a step or two on his own but not much more. I'm sure he'll be walking any day now!

Update

So you know you've been slacking when your hubby says "Honey, I think its time you do something on that blog...its been awhile." Alright, I know, I know. Now let me think, what has happened in the last 3 months?.......Here we go.

Kendall got potty trained.
We built a kitchen table.
Kendall decided she didn't want to be potty trained and went back to diapers (sad day for mommy).
Kendall decided she didn't like diapers and is back in panties (happy day for mommy).
Matt and I (and our good buddy Sam) begin our scuba diving certification.
Matt went on a trip to San Fran for work.
Matt went on a trip to Atlanta for work.
Cole decides to start crawling while Matt is in Atlanta for work.
Matt and I take a random sushi-making class...awesome.
Matt goes on a frigid snowy Boy Scouts camp out.
We are waiting for new couches to be delivered (for our family room)....anyday now.

There you go. Now we are up to speed. Here are some wonderfully random pictures:)

Merry Christmas

We had a really fun Christmas this year. Kendall is finally old enough to start getting excited for everything (not like she really understands any significance of it....). She was pretty good about not messing with the Christmas tree ornaments and leaving the presents alone. The only exception was with her cousin Eden's present. Kendall was drawn to that puppy like no tomorrow. After she opened it twice we had to stash it somewhere else!
We also realized that our "great collection" of holiday decor was...eh....not so much. It turns out that the decorations that adequately fill a small apartment don't quite do justice in a house. I guess we'll have to work on that:)
Anyway, I've realized I'm not so good with taking pictures "in the moment." So I tried to take a cute picture of Kendall and Cole in front of the Christmas tree after the fact. But....it didn't turn out quite like I was hoping. Oh well, here it is anyway.

Oh, and how could I forget?! Our ward threw a Christmas party with a "Grinch" theme. And to complete the night, they held the play of "How the Grinch stole Christmas" with primary-aged children and, of course, my husband as the Grinch:) He makes a pretty mean Grinch, doesn't he?!

He did amazing and had everyone laughing at all the right moments. Afterwards, all the kids wanted their picture with the Grinch. Kendall and Cole have a pretty cool dad, don't they?

Merry Christmas everyone!
