2012 Updates

The year 2012 has been a roller coaster for us so far. We put a bid for a house in Saratoga Springs in December. We loved the house and we knew that we were the highest offer. The bank would reply with its decision on the house at the beginning of the year. Unknown to us, another offer came in at the last minute, outbid us, and got the house....bummer. I felt shocked, angry, and depressed all within an hour or so. But, what can you do?
The Saratoga Springs house:(
Here is our next #1 option. Its located in Pleasant Grove (So much closer to Matt's work), it has 1/4 acre yard (fenced), it is 2400 sq ft, 4 bdrm, 3 bathrm. However, it is in need of some definite tlc. We've already placed a bid on it so we should hear back from the bank mid February or so.

Pleasant Grove house. Cross your fingers!
Well on a much lighter note, life overall is going great. I have started working out at Gold's Gym with a group of girls from our ward. It works out great. Matt goes and works out with the guys at 7am and gets home by 8am so the girls can go while the boys watch the kids. We go to a few classes including zumba, pilates, etc. It definitely works me hard. And consequently, I haven't gained any weight with the pregnancy yet:) I am 15 weeks right now and am super excited to find out if we're having a boy or girl. Matt is crossing his fingers for a boy, so we'll have to wait and see.

Here are some fun pictures of Kendall.

Working out with mama. She's lifting a 5lb weight (about 1/4 her body weight!)
Wearing mommy's shoes. She loves trying on anyone's shoes:) Total girl.

Helping mommy brush her hair. Maybe once she grows some real hair of her own, she'll understand you never yank on hair brushes. Ouch!

Thanks Aunt Colleen for all the new books! This is a pretty common sight throughout the day. Kendall will retreat into her room and read books to herself.

Kendall apparently doesn't like it when mom needs to go to the bathroom....ever. She whimpers outside the door and will stick her fingers underneath. I start laughing every time!

Merry Christmas

These top 3 pictures were taken at a family get together. We made gingerbread houses with excessive amounts of candy. We found out that Kendall LOVES smarties, she'll pop those babies like no tomorrow! Kendall loved to play with her grandpa and her cousins Eden and Cohen.

I thought she looked super cute in her winter outfit...complete with toothbrush! (She loves chewing on them and I figure why not?!) We were going house hunting this day.

Christmas morning!!! Kendall even slept in until 8:00! We tried making cinnamon rolls for breakfast (a Deighton family tradition) and they didn't turn out all that great.......so we ended up having a bunch of yummy frosting instead! Kendall sure got the hang of opening presents because she got quite a few. It was fun to watch her play with all the packaging materials (paper, boxes and bubble wrap) and then she started figuring out all the toys. Here she is with her cat keyboard she got from Grandma and Grandpa Deighton. She loves it!

This video is pretty long but its funny how she starts dancing sporadically.

Kendall and all the spoils of Christmas morning.

She got a tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa Bardsley! She needs to grow a bit more to actually ride it.

Daddy is sharing his toys with Kendall!

Here is one of Kendall's new favorite things to do. She tries to lock herself in our closet all the time. Weird. (Matt wanted to add that he was sick when we filmed this, thats why he sounds funny.)

December Updates

Lets start with our biggest news. We are having baby #2!!!! Its kind of crazy to me to admit it because I don't feel all that pregnant. But we had our first doctor's appointment on Wednesday and here is the proof.

I should have scanned the pictures but I thought taking pictures with my camera would be faster. And this is what we ended up with. Sorry.

The top picture you can see a frontal view of the little bean. (Its actually almost the size of a lime right now!) You can see the creepy skull, 2 dots for the hands, and the round abdomen.

This bottom picture is basically the same but its zoomed out so the doctor could measure the distance from head to bum (shown by the green line).

The little baby has grown slightly more than predicted so our doctor moved the due date up 5 days! The new due date for the little one is July 9th!
Its crazy we are going through this whole thing again! We are really hoping that we can find/get the right house before the baby arrives. We currently have 3 offers out on houses and we are crossing our fingers for good news.

On a completely different subject, here are a few projects we have been working on in the Deighton home. (All ideas from Pinterest!)

Christmas pinecones. I asked my mom to gather some pinecones from my grandpa's place up in Montana. I would have felt stupid buying pinecones at a craft store when they litter the ground back home. So, being a real champ, my mom dug through the snow and gathered up some wonderful pinecones. I spray painted half of the pinecones white and the the other half red so they look nice and festive:) Thanks mom!

Temple picture for Kendall's room. A lady on pinterest has tons of great temple pictures that are antiqued and all have the writing "I'm going there someday..." on them. I thought this was a great idea to put in Kendall's room so she can have her own picture of a temple. I printed the picture in a 8x10 size. I got an 8x10 canvas frame at Hobby Lobby for about $3 and painted the edges black. I then modge podged the picture to the canvas and blended the black paint a tiny bit onto the picture. I then modge podged over the top of the picture to give it that cool textured look. I put a ribbon on the side (I'm not sure if I'm in love with the ribbon look). But here you go!

High School memory blanket. This only took 2 years to finally finish but its fun to look at all the memories. This is a mixture of both Matt and my t-shirts/sweatshirts from high school years, etc.

Coffee Table turned bench. This was the most expensive project of the 4. Our friends were throwing out their old coffee table and so we decided to save it. It wasn't the most attractive table you've ever seen but Matt and I saw potential. (By the way, Matt did most of the work in this project, so props to him.) So we bought some fabric, padding, trimming, buttons, and spray paint.
We first drilled 3 holes through the top of the table for where the buttons would go....no turning back now! We placed the padding and fabric over the top and fastened the 3 buttons nice and snug. We could then flip the table upside down and start securing the padding and fabric down on the bottom side of the table top with a staple gun. Many staples later, we decided to paint the legs. (Not the smartest idea...should have done that 1st but oh, well.) After all the paint dried, we trimmed up the extra fabric and put a cute trim round the entire thing to hide any rough spots.

 Not bad, huh?

Road trip to Paige's wedding

Leslie, Allison, Kendall and I drove to Rexburg to my cousin Paige's wedding. We left super early on Wednesday and got there in time in see the ceremony at the new Rexburg temple. It was perfect. We also got to see my cousin Jake! He just flew in from his mission in Costa Rica the night before.
Jake, Jill and her husband Peter

PJ pie and me!
Allison loves her some PJ too!

The three of us.
Here are some pictures of us back in the day:)
Paige and I dressing up all stylish at one of her birthday parties.
 Jealous of my bullcut?

More birthday festivities. Can you guess who is who?

Grandma B with her grandbaby.
 Now for the extras
Here is a pretty good video. Kendall started making this face whenever she gets super excited. We call it her "funny face." And here is why....

Kendall is a big girl eating yogurt all by herself. Oh my goodness.

Kendall has figured out what keys are for. Now on to the plans for escaping...

Climbing and Talking

Kendall is getting more mobile than I can ever keep up with. It seems like every few days she'll find a new place to climb. And I think, "How did she get up there?!"

So I walk into the living room the other day and this is what I see.

At first I thought, "Oh my goodness, my baby is going to fall and die!" But after I calmed down, I wondered how exactly she got up there. So I sat back and captured my little acrobat with the camera.

Here we go.

Pretty fast learner isn't she?
Here is a clip of Kendall jabbering up a storm. It is hilarious how you can basically have a lengthy conversation without her saying one real word. She is half naked because she got real messy at dinner and her parents are apparently too lazy to put new clothes on her. I love her facial expressions. Enjoy.
