Smiles

Cole started to smile right before we left on our trip to St. George. Oh man, smiles make it all worth while!

St. George Trip

We decide to take a break from the world for a weekend and go down to St. George with a bunch of friends. We got to stay at a vacation home of one of our friend's parents. I wish I would have taken some pictures because it was an amazing home!
At the pool with her friend Jersey.

These girls were all running in circles squealing! It was adorable!

Had to get a picture of Matt and Trevor spending time with their boys!
We mostly tried to relax....as much as you can while vacationing with 2 kids. We went swimming, played some tennis, rode scooters, hung out at a splash pad, and ate...a lot! Kendall had fun playing with the six other kids that were there. And Cole was a champ in both the car ride and the crazy weekend. Good times.

Clearing out my camera

Kendall got to experience the pool with the Bardsley fam. Just look at her determination here! Swim Kendall, swim!

Chillin' with her Aunts Leslie and Aubrey and her cousin Eden:)
She even warmed up to her uncle Brett in the end!
She liked the pool so much that when it was time to go (and I had already changed her into dry clothes) she decided she wanted to go for one last swim and walked right off the edge and into the pool! Oh my goodness, it scared me to death. Luckily, her Aunt Ashley was a few feet away and pulled her up out of the water. But crazy Kendall cried more about having to leave to go home than her near-death experience. I'm going to have to put that child in a life vest whenever she is even near water...just in case she decides to try that again!

We found out that our back deck had some structural issues. Thankfully, Matt's family decided to stay in town a bit longer than expected and helped us fix it! One big trip to Home Depot and a few hours of measuring and pounding later, it was fixed:)

Kendall is inspecting all the work.

Kendall was playing a little too quietly, so mama got suspicious and this what I found! Kendall found the baby powder and "decorated" our bathroom. (FYI, that's an otter pop she's eating)

Cole loves his swing!

We decided to lay some bark and plant some perenials around the house to spruce it up a bit. Here are some "before" and "afters".

Before
 After

Before
After
I didn't take a before pic but here's what it looks like after. Cool, huh?

Here's my crazy Kendall:)
Here's the face she gives when you ask her to smile. (Notice her tiger with a pacifier and blankie around it!)
Now she's taking care of her doll Cee cee.

And finally, we went out for a relaxing picnic in the park. Matt sure does love his little boy!

The End.

This one is for Grandma Deighton:

Post by Matt:

This is Kendall opening a great present from my Grandma Deighton. As you can tell, she had a lot of fun just opening the package. Thanks Great Grandma Deighton!

This is the awesome pack that I bought. Thanks for the savings bonds!

I'll leave you with a great sleeping pick...we have no shortage of pics including one of us asleep with one of the kids.

Little Cole

Matt loves his little boy.

Cole sleeps just like Kendall did.

Everyone's first comment seems to be, "Look at all that hair!" Which was weird to me since we never got those comments with Kendall....since she didn't have practically any hair. Ha ha.

We really like this book:)

Life has been different for sure with 2 kids. Everyone tells you it will be, and they were right. Often I think, "I only I had one more arm.....". It always seems like there is one kid crying while the other has a dirty diaper or the phone is ringing while I am changing that diaper or Kendall finds something dangerous while I'm nursing Cole, the list goes on and on.

My least favorite thing about having 2 kids: I rarely get a chance to get some rest, which would explain a big reason why I have been sick twice within the last month. It always seems like when one is taking a nap, the other feels the need to act up a little more than usual.

My favorite thing about having 2 kids: Seeing how much Kendall loves her brother. She loves to give him kisses. And when he cries, she will find a pacifier for him and try to give him hugs.

Out and about

Here's some things we've been up to the last few weeks as we have been out and about.

Kendall and her cousin Eden loved playing with buttons.
(Its apparently the "in" thing right now.)
Kendall and Cole got to hang with their Grandma for a week! Thanks for helping me out Mom!
Then Aunt Crystal (otherwise known as "Turkey") got to come play and have a tea party with Kendall.
 We love tea parties!
Then we went to Thanksgiving Point and played in a splash pad. (Daddy and Kendall and waiting for the water.)
Kendall even got to see Noah and his Ark:)
Then we ran around and looked at all the awesome gardens and flowers.

Matt thinks he looks tough holding his baby.
 Kendall loved feeding the coi.
Kendall wanted to get as close as she could.
Then we played in the spinklers (while we tried to revive our chunks of dead grass).
 Oh so happy!
This is how Kendall runs through the sprinkler!
Life is good when you're wet and cool on a hot hot day!

Cole is here!

We are now a family of 4! Little Cole Alexander came as planned on July 2nd at 12:37 pm. He was a healthy 7 lbs 6 oz and 19.5 inches and all the staff at the hospital commented how much he looks like Matt.

All checked into the hospital:)

He has Matt's hair color, Matt's same cowlicks, Matt's nose, Matt's ears, Matt's darker skin tone......basically he is a little version of Matt!
Kendall is transitioning well to her baby brother. We are still working on the idea of being "soft." And whenever Cole cries she'll come to one of us saying "baby crying" over and over. She likes to give him hugs and kisses, hold his hands, tickle his feet and shove the pacifier back in his mouth whenever it comes out. Its fun to see her be a big sister.
